Victorian Charms
Let's just get it out there - Melbourne is big. By area, apparently it is 10 times the size of Auckland. However, it has 'only' 3 times the population, which means the population density is a third of Auckland.
As well as the inner city charms we borrowed a car and headed out for wine and gin tasting in the Yarra Valley. It went well...
That in turn means it has many inner city parks and cycle trails, many of which we have been exploring .
It must be said that Mary was very adventurous and was even prepared to believe that there were no snakes on this particular stretch of the trail...

Having sampled a range of Yarra's finest we rounded off our visit with a walk to Maroondah Dam, and for once saw a waterfall that actually had water...
And we mustn't forget the Melbourne city wildlife.
